It’s one of my favorite nights of the year - Harding and Johnson play the Saint Paul Cup at Allianz Field. Tickets are free and can be reserved through SeatGeek. Boys kick at 5:30 and girls at 7:30.

Some quick hits for your weekend.

Yesterday was the first straight day of 57 consecutive days with at least one NFL or college football game.

Break out the blood sausage for breakfast, the Vikings and Jets kick at 8:30 a.m. central on Sunday from London. Sam Darnold was named NFC Offensive Player of the Month for September. I’d take the Vikings (-2.5) to win outright against Aaron Rodgers in likely the final game between A-Rodg and the Vikes.

The Lynx plays at Connecticut tonight to try to take back home court in the best-of-five series that’s tied 1-1. Can the Lynx unleash Napheesa Collier?

The Gophers return home to face USC in the middle of a murderous three-game stretch. Fresh off a three-point loss to Michigan, I like the Gophers (+8.5) to keep it close on home field and cover versus the Trojans. Should be a glorious night for football with temps in the low 80’s during the day. I’ll be Big Ten Network’s “POV spotter”, or the person who calls in down and distance and yard line to the truck for each and every play during the game.

The Loons are officially in the playoffs, but a win over Vancouver on the road Saturday in their penultimate game could move them over Vancouver and into seventh place. The eighth and ninth place teams play a one-game playoff; the rest get a best-of-three. Vancouver has one game in hand on the Loons, which played Real Salt Lake to a scoreless draw Wednesday to clinch a playoff spot.

Gopher women’s hockey hosts Boston University at Ridder for two. The Gopher men play an exhibition at St. Cloud State.

Yankees and three American League Central teams make up the final four in the AL.

Kirk Cousins throws for 509 yards (in primetime) but I still wouldn’t want him over Darnold.
