Give me the old NHL 13-11 All-Star Game over this three-day nonsense with a draft. Loved the PWHL 3-on-3, though.
Gobert an All-Star Snub
As the first-in-the-West Wolves prepare to host Orlando tonight, they learned that, unsurprisingly, Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards were going to represent them in the All-Star Game. Rudy Gobert is not joining them, and it’s a disgrace. Anyone who’s watched about two Wolves games this year knows he deserves to go. Midwest bias...
The Wolves blew out Dallas 121-87 on Wednesday, their first laugher of a win in three weeks. It was nice to save some minutes on the big guns; Minnesota scored 121 despite ANT scoring just nine.
Minnesota leads OKC by a game in the West, with a couple very winnable games before a showdown with second-in-the-East Milwaukee.
Gopher Hockey
It’s the biggest Gopher men regular season game in recent memory, and it’s not on actual TV in the Twin Cities which is just a disgrace. Minnesota faces No. 4 Wisconsin in Madison, and you’ll need BTN+ in order to watch it. A clean sweep of the Badgers would actually tie the two teams for second in the Big 10, although, Wisconsin still has two games in hand.
The Gopher women, who struggled with Minnesota State last weekend, host a 2-17-1 in conference St. Thomas tonight and tomorrow.
Gopher Hoops
The Gopher men have had a full week off heading into Saturday’s game at Northwestern. The women dropped an 80-64 decision at Penn State Wednesday and are off until facing Michigan State in East Lansing on Monday.
