The Takeout is back! Real life got busy and stayed busy through dance nationals, but home after a national championship to write more about sports every Mon-Wed-Fri.

My latest column for Pulltab is on Suni Lee’s Olympic comeback, through the eyes of her elementary school physical education teacher. I’ll be taping a Make Glove Not W.A.R. Twins podcast later this week.

Lynx Win for Seventh Straight Time in L.A.

The Lynx continued their dominance over the Los Angeles Sparks, racing to a 13-point first quarter lead en route to an 82-67 win in L.A. late last night. Minnesota has won seven straight games at what I’ll continue to call the STAPLES Center, and 13 of 14 against the Sparks overall.

Still no Napheesa Collier, but the well balanced Lynx were just fine without her. Bridget Carlton scored 16 points, and 2023 second-round pick Dorka Juhasz added 15 points and six rebounds. The Lynx were +25 with Juhasz on the floor.

Minnesota is up 1.5 games over second-place Seattle in the West. The teams meet Friday in Seattle, ahead of Minnesota’s home tilt against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Sunday.

Twins Have Doubleheader at White Sox Today

Remnants of Beryl blew through Chicago yesterday and rained out the Twins and White Sox, so they’ll try to play a traditional doubleheader today. Bailey Ober and Pablo Lopez toe the rubber for the Twins, who head to San Francisco after the game for three this weekend.

Wolves Sign Draft Picks, Including Dillingham

The Wolves signed both their first-round picks yesterday. Rob Dillingham was acquired in a bold draft night move by the Wolves, and Terrence Shannon, Jr., went 27th overall.

Wild Re-Signs Chisholm, Raska

A pair of players acquired mid-season by the Wild in 2023-24 were re-signed yesterday to one-year contracts. Declan Chisholm is a puck-moving defenseman who was traded from Winnipeg. The 24-year-old showed some signs of better things to come last season.

Adam Raska came over in the Calen Addison trade and spent much of the season in Iowa, while skating five games in Minnesota. His contract is two-way, I’d expect him to spend a majority of his time in Des Moines again.
