Join Pulltab Sports and me at the Minnesota State Fair! I’ll be doing a LIVE Make Glove not W.A.R. podcast Saturday from 2-3 p.m. in Carousel Park across from the grandstand. You’re all going to Nate Bargatze that night anyways.

Lynx at Las Vegas tonight in a battle of the top two teams in the West. The Lynx are just one game out of the second spot overall. WNBA hit the QUARTER POLE of the season this week.

Loons back in action Saturday after the Leagues Cup break. They play Seattle, a team they’ve never had much success against.

Twins' Losing Streak Hits Three in San Diego

The Twins have lost three in a row, including yet another bullpen meltdown late last night in a 7-5 loss to San Diego. Minnesota blew a pair of two-run leads late, including Seth Okert getting touched for four runs in the eighth inning.

Bailey Ober was cruising along through six, but Rocco sent him out to start the seventh. He got in trouble, and a 3-1 lead became a 3-3 tie.

The Twins immediately answered back to take a 5-3 lead in the top of the eighth, but Okert got roughed up in the bottom half of the inning.

Minnesota, which three days ago was concerned with catching first-place Cleveland, is now tied with surging Kansas City for second in the Central. While they’re still 3.5 games up on the Wild Card, a three-game losing streak can become six in a hurry.

Safe to say the biggest homestand of the year awaits after one more game tonight in San Diego. The Cardinals, Braves and Blue Jays come to town beginning Friday for a nine-game homestand that runs through Labor Day.

Will we see Byron Buxton or Carlos Correa anytime soon? Buxton is testing his hip and was targeting a Friday return, but that seems dubious. It’s beginning to seem like Twins fans shouldn’t expect Correa back before October.
