Other HBO Characters: Would They Survive in “The Last of Us”?
Dragons, drug dealers, scammers, oh my!
HBO’s latest series, “The Last of Us,” takes place in a terrifying apocalyptic world after a pandemic hits. Normally, any media that has to do with a pandemic is hard to watch after that one lockdown. COVID-19, I think it was called. Remember that? Anyway, watching the events of a pandemic unfold doesn’t seem to be an issue for viewers as the series is gaining more and more viewership each week.
Turns out that when the pandemic involves zombie-like symptoms, it's more appealing to watch. Who would have thought?
The network HBO released earlier this week that four of their current series are now reaching over 15 million views per episode; “The White Lotus,” “Euphoria,” “The Last of Us” and “House of the Dragon.”
Each of these series have gained its’ popularity for their shocking plot lines and wild characters in their unique worlds. But, what if these characters lived in the same world? Or worse, the same apocalyptic world?
Thus, here are characters from the four most current and popular HBO series, and how their journey to survival might go in the world of “The Last of Us.”
!! Minor Spoilers Ahead !!
Rue (“Euphoria”)
If you know one thing about Zendaya’s character Rue in the show “Euphoria,” it’s that she’s done drugs. Lots of them. All kinds of them. So many foreign substances have already been through her veins so what’s a deadly fungus? Just a typical Tuesday for her. In the world of “The Last of Us,” Rue would be most like the character Ellie, who is played by Bella Ramsey. She would get bit by an infected, and yet somehow survive. Plus, as shown in season two of “Euphoria,” Rue can run. Also on her resume are several gangs and scary people after her, so not only would she survive the infected but she could also survive the people. Overall, Rue would survive a shocking amount of time with just pure dumb luck.
Daemon (“House of the Dragon”)
In the series “House of the Dragon,” it’s no secret that Daemon Targaryen loves power. Whether it’s seizing it, opposing it or marrying it, Daemon always finds himself flirting with the concept of ruling something. So in a world where the structure of who has power comes crashing down like it does in “The Last of Us,” Daemon is most likely to see it as an opportunity to be in charge and rule over people. Likely surviving and becoming a dictator. If he does die in this scenario, it would not be from an infection but probably be from getting overthrown as a dictator.
Dragons (“House of the Dragon”)
C’mon. They are dragons. They fly and breathe fire. Yeah, they can survive and burn some of the infected in this situation. But if they get infected… it's over for us humans. Imagine one of these dragons as a “clicker.” Might as well just throw in the towel because good luck surviving that terrifying idea.
Mia and Lucia (“The White Lotus”)
These ladies, Mia and Lucia, in “The White Lotus” can scam their way into anything. They know how to charm and get their way even when it means doing something a little shady. In “The Last of Us,” it would be no surprise if they somehow were able to scam their way into protection. Not sure how, but they would also find a way to end up in luxury at some mansion. They would find a way.
Tanya (“The White Lotus”)
Jennifer Coolidge’s character, Tanya, would have the same fate in “The Last of Us” world as she did in “The White Lotus.” This time it’s fungi people instead of the gays, even though they were also “fun guys.” Tanya would get lucky and defend herself surprisingly well, but she would most likely make the mistake of eating some of the infected flour that is said to have started the pandemic.
