John Gaskins

A miserable Huskers fan and tortured golfer, this Omaha native and University of Nebraska graduate has spent a collective 10 years broadcasting South Dakota sports events on radio and streaming. Gaskins hosted numerous daily sports talk shows in Sioux Falls and Lincoln for over a decade (yes, he's won awards, too), and spent the last year-plus as covering the state’s biggest issues as a TV news reporter for Dakota News Now in Sioux Falls. He spends his summers as the entertainment director and master of ceremonies (rodeo clown) at Sioux Falls Canaries games, where if you stay until the seventh-inning stretch, you'll see "Harry Canary" belting out "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." Leinenkugels spelled backwards is Slegukneniel!  And Summer Shandy is a fabulous drink when you're out on the lake in a kayak, which spelled backwards, is kayak.
