Matt Zimmer

Zimmer is a die-hard Twins and Vikings fan, recently retired middling amateur baseball player and coach, multiple South Dakota Sportswriter of the Year award winner, and a wizard with the air fryer. Zimmer is a Sioux Falls native and lifelong resident, save for his four years he spent at St. Cloud State. After 19 years as a reporter and columnist for his hometown newspaper, the Argus Leader, he recently joined Forum Communications covering sports for SiouxFallsLive.com and the Mitchell Daily Republic. Zimmer spent eight years as South Dakota State University's premier beat reporter, building a reputation as a trusted, sharp, witty wordsmith. You'll rarely see him stray from Budweiser bottles and Bacardi-and-Coke's, and don't get this high-brow rock 'n' roll historian started on what he thinks of Fleetwood Mac and Pearl Jam. It won't be pretty.
