Hockey journeys are step by step and rung by rung. New Mexico’s presence in the hockey world continues to grow as a development ladder is being built including the NAHL, NA3HL, and dozens of youth teams populated with home grown talent from the area. This weekend the Outpost Arena hosts a Tier 1 NAPHL tournament, and a chance for those players to see the NAHL experience up close. If that wasn’t enough, the Colorado Grit make their inaugural visit to Albuquerque for a three-game series against the Ice Wolves, the boys sort out a sewer ball controversy, and we get an inside peak at the rich tradition that is pre-game handshakes.
