The New Mexico Ice Wolves first trip to the playoffs should have come with popcorn, as the emotional swings and comebacks were aplenty. The new turquoise playoff jerseys proved to be a lucky gem in an unlikely comeback against Lone Star, helping them advance to their first ever Robertson Cup National Championship Final Four. After 3 seasons, the Ice Wolves know that a hockey team alone doesn’t make a hockey town. It takes a culture, and a community working together to build a hockey town the right way. The Ice Wolves are doing just that in the least likely of places—the middle of the New Mexico desert. And with a growing youth program and a new NA3HL team on the way it appears to be working.
