No chance I’m paying $6.99 to stream a Wild or Wolves game. I thought this was the biggest price gouge until I was reminded that streaming a high school game is more than this. We should demand better.

Ben Johnson’s Gophers team plays host to North Texas tonight for sure without senior guard Mike Mitchell, and possibly without injured star Dawson Garcia too.

Turnovers Dog Wolves Again in Loss to Portland

The Wolves are as close to last in the West as they are to first, and they’re going to leave themselves with a lot of work to do if this continues.

Minnesota became the first NBA team with 20 or more turnovers in three straight games since 1995 (!), losing 122-108 in Portland late last night. To shoot more than 50 percent from the field and still lose by 14 is hard to do in the NBA.

The starting frontcourt combined for 12 turnovers. Donte DiVincenzo turned the ball over four times in 18 minutes off the bench. Minnesota had just four offensive rebounds while allowing 11.

Seven Blazers scored in double figures. It wasn’t even as close as the lopsided result would make you think.

Same two teams at 9 p.m. tonight. Imagine paying $6.99 to watch last night…

Dave St. Peter Out as Twins President

In a move that’s been a couple years in the making, longtime Twins President Dave St. Peter is moving into an advisory role. Derek Falvey, who ran just the baseball side of things, will now oversee both baseball and business operations, with 34-year-old Jeremy Zoll will officially be general manager.

St. Peter is a lifelong Twin who was named President in 2002. With the Pohlads preparing to sell, the time was right to make Falvey the Grand Poobah.

Gable Steveson Back with Gophers Wrestling

Following a failed contract with WWE and not making it with the NFL’s Buffalo Bills, Gable Steveson is back with the Gophers wrestling team. Steveson is an Olympic gold medalist and two-time NCAA champion who last competed in the 2021-22 season. He has a year left of NCAA eligibility.

Steveson will carry a 52-match win streak into his first match of the season, Nov. 24 against Campbell.
