Almost one quarter of Division I college hockey players have entered the transfer portal!

Pretty excited to be in Caitlin Clark’s hometown Friday night as she takes on Paige Bueckers’ UConn Huskies.

Wolves Rally to Beat Rockets

No 3-pointers? No problem for Anthony Edwards. Ant has now gone three straight games without making a 3-pointer, but still capped off last night’s 113-106 win over Houston with a pair of thunderous dunks in the closing minutes. Edwards scored 19 points, but the game was all about Naz Reid (25 points, six rebounds) as the Wolves moved a half game back of Denver for first with a game in hand.

The Wolves’ slow starts will cost them in the playoffs if they keep it up. Down 23-16 after one, Minnesota outscored Houston 38-22 in the second quarter.

It’s a rare home back-to-back as Minnesota hosts 23-52 Toronto tonight.

Shaw Scores as Wild Edges Sens 3-2

Mason Shaw scored his first goal in a dozen games since his fourth knee reconstruction, helping to lift the Wild to a 3-2 win over Ottawa on 90’s Night at The X.

Shaw’s goal was his first in the NHL in more than a year, and he also set up Vinny Litierri’s game-winner in the third period.

There are eight games left and the Wild moved within six points of L.A. for the final playoff spot. However, St. Louis is three up on Minnesota. The Kings have lost three straight.

The Wild hosts the Avs, who are four points out of first overall in the NHL, on Thursday.

Twins Lose, Drop to 2-2

The best news to come out of the Twins’ 3-2 loss at Milwaukee yesterday is that Byron Buxton avoided a sure season-ending injury when almost colliding with one of the Brewers’ famed racing sausages.

Wanda the Walleye would never.

Hitting continues to be an issue for the Twins, who managed just three singles and went 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position.

One more at Milwaukee today, then the home opener against the Guardians tomorrow.
