David Trnka

David Trnka is a 3rd Generation UND student, with an extreme passion for hockey. David’s love of UND hockey started as a young kid. He played hockey growing up, and even wore the stripes as a certified USA hockey referee. After graduating from West Fargo High School, David double downed on his hockey passion during the pandemic, deciding to commit to sports media and enroll at his dream school—the University of North Dakota.  David founded the ND Ice podcast in the fall of 2021, with the goal of creating a one-stop-shop for people to listen and learn about all the different levels of hockey in North Dakota while helping grow the game in his home state. David hopes to oneday expand the footprint of the ND Ice pod to include junior hockey, college, AAA, and Tier 1. David’s long term goal is to turn his side hustle into a career ideally as a college hockey TV announcer or analyst.
